MEDICAL ANIMATIONS FORMED INTO INTERACTIVE APPLICATION FOR TO VISUALISE SURGICAL TECHNIQUES
To create medical 3D models and animations to form a comprehensive base of surgical deployment technique for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms. This had to showcase the key features of the stent as it is customisable, allowing patient-centered treatment approach
Three sections were created within an interactive application to showcase numerous customisable features after the viewer has watched the surgical deployment. It was also important to include videos of the clinical performance statistics to prove this is a viable treatment option with successful long-term outcomes.
This project was in collaboration with a medical device company and to fulfil my dissertation requirements for my MSc in Medical Visualisation and Human Anatomy. A strong emphasis was given to the way this would affect surgeons in learning about innovative surgical techniques and how this would positively influence surgical decisions and treatments for patients with complex, abnormal anatomical aneurysms.
